Chinese Translator & Production Assistant
Mission
To support our Chinese Technical Experts in the daily production of miniatures, we are recruiting a Chinese Translator & Production Assistant (M/F) on a permanent contract.
Responsibilities
- Translate conversations of Chinese Experts during meetings they must attend, or during all discussions Chinese experts have with Minimad staff or vice versa
- Translate all discussions from Malagasy/French to Chinese/English, or from Chinese/English to Malagasy/French
- Translate all documents related to Chinese Experts: administrative information, meeting summaries, emails, various procedures within each department
- Translate technical terms: equipment, machines and tools used, user manuals
- Translate technical production terms in each department and follow up on instructions given by Chinese experts to employees
- Be the interface between Chinese experts and staff, i.e., liaise with all departments, assembly and other departments/management
- Proactively seek information and coordinate to solve problems without waiting for the Chinese experts
- Relay messages from Chinese Experts to Malagasy operators, and vice versa
Requirements
- High school diploma and university-level studies in Chinese language (Mandarin)
- Good level of French
- English highly desired (oral and written)
- Experience as a Chinese-Malagasy-French-English translator
- Technical translation experience required
- Rigorous, dynamic, with good interpersonal skills
- Able to work under pressure and as part of a team
